Alison Bergmann

Alison Bergmann, Senator

Alison Bergmann (she/her/hers) has been a member of SWE since 2010 and has served in a wide variety of leadership roles at both the collegiate and professional levels in section, region, and society positions. She is a Senior SWE Life Member. Alison received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University, her Master of Engineering Management from the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University, and her Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where she was a Forte Fellow. She is an incoming Consultant at EY- Parthenon. Before returning to school for her MBA, Alison worked at John Deere as a Design Engineer on large cross-functional projects and as a Supply Management Specialist for current product combines.

As President of the Valparaiso University Section, Alison demonstrated her strong leadership skills by expanding outreach activities, professional development, and mentoring programs. Alison then served as the Region H Collegiate Communications Editor, increasing blog followers by 50%. As a professional member, Alison was the Quad Cities/Muscatine Section Representative for three years and a member of the FY19 Society Integrated Marketing Advisory Board. She served as the FY18-FY19 Chair for the Society Awards and Recognition Committee, with approximately 180 volunteers as members, coordinators, and judges.

Alison was elected to a second term on the Senate for FY23-FY25. During her first term in the Senate, she worked on the Strategic Planning Sub-Team, the SWE Senate Society Bylaws Streamlining Sub-Team, and the Senate RISE Sub-team. Alison is a recipient of the 2022 SWE Distinguished New Engineer Award, the 2021 and 2022 SWE Patent Recognition Awards, and the 2020 SWE WE Local New ELiTE Award.
