Carol J. Weber, F.SWE, Senator

Carol, a second-year senator, Life member assigned to Tucson section, described in six words: mom, wife, engineer, helper, volunteer, philanthropist. She “graduated” from Caterpillar Inc in October 2020 after completing a 30+ year program in all areas of product development for engine and machine system products. She is a Certified 6 Sigma Black Belt. She is proud of her career developing cutting-edge technologies from portable data acquisition systems to wireless telemetry systems to leading programs in autonomous controls of large mining products.

Carol, a native of Osseo, WI, received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a Certificate in Management for the 21st Century from Bradley University. Carol’s hobbies include biking, hiking, playing piano, and supporting community organizations (UW-Platteville Foundation, United Way, SARSEF, PACC, Beading Divas to the Rescue). Carol lives in Tucson, Arizona, with her husband Brian. Together they have two adult children, Alyson and Matthew. SWE recognized Carol’s career accomplishments with the Prism award in 2014 and as a Fellow in 2019. As a member of SWE since college, she has served in many SWE leadership positions at the Section, Region, and Society levels. She most recently served as the FY22 Finance Committee Chair. Carol’s personal goal for the Senate this year is to support the strategic development of SWE’s goal to be seen as leaders in Sustainability and Innovation.
