Shelley Stracener

Shelley Stracener, Senator

Shelley Stracener is a Principal Systems Engineer at LivaNova’s neuromodulation division, a medical device organization that designs and manufactures Class III implantable neurostimulator systems for treating epilepsy and depression. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Baylor University and is currently studying for a Master of Science in Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

Shelley is in the third year of her Senate term following her service as a member of the Society Nominating Committee, SWE Integrated Marketing Advisory Board, and SWE Magazine Editorial Board. Shelley also has 16 years of leadership experience in local SWE sections, including service as Dallas SWE Section President. She is a Life Member of SWE, celebrating her 21st membership anniversary this year.

In her free time, she enjoys riding her recumbent bicycle, crocheting, listening to podcasts, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
