Shelley Stracener (she/her/hers) is a Principal Systems Engineer at LivaNova’s neuromodulation division, a medical device company that designs and manufactures Class III implantable neurostimulator systems for the treatment of drug resistant epilepsy and difficult to treat depression. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Baylor University and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Shelley currently serves as SWE Senate Secretary following a 3-year term as a Senator, a member of the Society Nominating Committee, SWE Integrated Marketing Advisory Board, and SWE Magazine Editorial Board. Shelley also has 17 years of leadership experience in local SWE sections, including service as Dallas SWE Section President. She is a Life Member of SWE, celebrating her 22nd membership anniversary this year.
In her free time, she enjoys riding her recumbent bicycle, crocheting, listening to podcasts, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
