Sreyoshi Bhaduri, PhD, Senator

Sreyoshi Bhaduri, Ph.D. (she/her) is a Research Scientist at Amazon who employs innovative and ethical mixed-methods research and data science to uncover insights about the 21 st -century workforce. Prior to Amazon, Sreyoshi led Global People Research and Analytics at McGraw Hill – the learning sciences company. While at McGraw Hill, Sreyoshi was instrumental in the Women’s Leadership Initiative that developed and pioneered the organization’s global mentoring and sponsorship programs. Dr. Bhaduri has interdisciplinary training with a doctorate in Engineering Education and Masters’s degrees in Applied Statistics (M.A.) and Mechanical Engineering (M.S.). Sreyoshi encourages women not only to enter but persist and succeed in STEM careers through leveraging networking and mentorship relationships. Sreyoshi has been a member of the Society of Women Engineers (the world’s largest advocate for women in engineering with 42k global members) for over a decade and currently serves as a second-year Senator. Sreyoshi also volunteers as an advisor and mentors high school student founders and leaders of a STEM education initiative – Sisters in STEM, which champions young girls interested in pursuing engineering and STEM degrees. Sreyoshi maintains close ties with academia and has partnered on several National Science Foundation-funded research projects in the engineering education realm. Sreyoshi has been recognized as a SWE Engaged Advocate, a Global Perspectives Fellow, and a Diversity scholar at Virginia Tech and was inducted into the Bouchet Honor Society at Yale.
