Piper Kruse (she/her) is the Manager of Learning Programs for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Piper is responsible for creating and promoting high-impact digital learning solutions (videos, eLearning courses, web sessions, training guides, etc.) for SWE’s Advance Learning Center, and acts as the primary administrator of SWE’s learning technologies including, the learning management system (LMS), video production, closed captioning software, web conferencing platforms, and eLearning authoring technologies.
Before joining SWE, Piper freelanced as a filmmaker and editor on documentaries, music videos and short films, as well as worked large scale conferences, festivals and a handful of weddings as a photographer. She previously worked for Northwestern University for 12 years where she collaborated with the prosthetics & orthotics faculty to design their current blended learning program by creating online multimedia course content focused on student-centered functionality, intergraded e-learning technologies into online and onsite instruction, advised best practices for engaging the audience online using evidence-based pedagogical methods, provided technical training to incoming students and faculty, and filmed and edited over 1000 hours of lectures, patient assessments and fabrication demonstrations.
