SUMMARY:Bridging STEM Gaps: SWE and DSL Empower the Next Generation of Engineers
DESCRIPTION:Join SWE for an inspiring webinar on Design Squad Latinx (DSL)\, a bilingual (Spanish–English) STEM initiative that engages kids ages 8–12—especially from Latinx communities—in hands-on engineering challenges that celebrate their creativity\, culture\, and problem-solving skills. \nThis session will feature Deysi Melgar\, a familiar face to many in the SWE community. Deysi is a longtime SWE advocate\, co-host of Design Squad\, and facilitator of SWE’s annual Invent It. Build It. outreach event. She brings unique insight into how DSL supports inclusive\, culturally responsive STEM learning. \nSWE proudly served as a co-developer of DSL\, contributing expertise in outreach to girls and underrepresented youth to help shape this impactful program. \nParticipants will receive free outreach-ready resources\, including four bilingual engineering modules\, self-paced training\, and professional development tools to enrich your STEM programming. \nTweetShareShare0 Shares
