SUMMARY:Authentic Influence: Using Your Story to Build Relationships & Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:For many professionals\, the idea of personal branding can feel uncomfortable or inauthentic. This session invites participants to reframe personal branding as something more genuine: telling a clear\, honest story about who you are\, what you value\, and the impact you bring. Whether you are networking\, exploring new opportunities\, or preparing for a job interview\, a well-crafted personal story can help you make meaningful connections and stand out in a crowded professional landscape. \nThe first hour of this experience is delivered as a live webinar\, introducing key principles of authentic professional storytelling. Participants will explore the essential ingredients of a compelling narrative and a practical\, six-step approach to connecting career highlights\, strengths\, and learning moments into a story that is real\, relevant\, and memorable. The webinar will also address how to tailor your story to different audiences and goals\, with time for live audience Q&A. \nThis presentation offers 0.10 CEUs / 1.0 PDH. To receive CEU/PDH\, the presentation must be viewed in its entirety in addition to completing the knowledge check with an 80%. This session is free for SWE members upon login. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:ECP AG: WE Local Recap Part 2
DESCRIPTION:The SWE Early Career Professionals Affinity Group cordially invites you to our upcoming virtual event\, “WE Local Recap Part 2” on Tuesday\, April 7\, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT! Did you miss WE Local Portland? Join us for this discussion as we explore the common challenges young professionals face 3–5 years into their careers. Transitioning from entry-level roles to positions of greater responsibility\, the weight of imposter syndrome\, and societal pressures can make career advancement feel intimidating. While workplace dynamics demand a careful balance of professionalism and authenticity\, many struggle to gain leadership experience\, balance personal and professional growth\, and weigh financial decisions. \nThis roundtable discussion will not only highlight these pain points but also create a space for open dialogue\, where panelists share their intimate anecdotes and honest reflections. Collegiate students and early-career professionals are encouraged to join the conversation to create a moment of collective self-reflection. Framed as a cathartic open letter to your 20-year-old self\, this conversation encourages you to move forward with clarity\, humility\, and support—while reminding us that we may not have all the answers\, but none of us are navigating these challenges alone. \nMeeting details will be provided after completing the registration. \n

SUMMARY:From Imposter to Trailblazer: Claiming Your Power as a Leader
DESCRIPTION:What if the very doubt you think disqualifies you is the proof of your leadership edge? We’ve been fed a lie: that feeling like an imposter means you don’t belong. The truth? Doubt is a natural byproduct of growth\, visibility\, and high standards. \nIn this session\, Tanya Geisler will expose the 12 Lies of the Imposter Complex\, the behaviors they trigger\, and how high-achieving leaders can move from self-doubt to strategic power. We’ll reframe Imposter Complex as a signpost of significance—and use it to unlock ICONIC confidence\, presence\, and action. \nThis session isn’t about “fixing” yourself—it’s about owning your leadership. Together\, we’ll dismantle outdated narratives about imposterhood\, build a new foundation of confidence that doesn’t require perfection\, and explore the ICONIC™ Framework as a leadership tool. For engineers\, executives\, and entrepreneurs alike—this is a call to stop minimizing and start leading with grounded ambition. \nRegister today in the Advance Learning Center!

SUMMARY:ECP AG: Professional Development Series
DESCRIPTION:The SWE Early Career Professionals Affinity Group cordially invites you to our virtual event\, “FY26 Monthly Professional Development Series: March” on Wednesday\, March 25\, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT. This month’s session features two insightful presentations focused on feedback and industry insights in the field of healthcare. \nClaire Wemp will speak on “How to Navigate Bad Feedback and Give Good Feedback”. Claire is a Lead Application Engineer at Qnity Electronics\, a spin-off of DuPont that sells specialty electronic materials into nearly every market segment. She got her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and her masters and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of California\, Berkeley. She is an active member and former Treasurer for the Santa Clara Valley SWE Section and lives in San Jose\, CA with her husband and 1 year old son\, Benjamin. This presentation will include the following takeaways:\n-Feedback is a two-way street. In order to give\, you must be open to receiving.\n-How you communicate your feedback matters. Be Specific\, Timely\, and Actionable. \nKeval Patel will speak on “Analytics in the Field of Healthcare”. Keval is a data engineer and analyst with hands-on experience in healthcare and oncology analytics\, specializing in building reliable data pipelines\, validating complex clinical datasets\, and delivering actionable insights through dashboards and automation. She is experienced in Data Management & Analytics with a strong focus on data quality\, compliance\, and translating business and research needs into scalable\, data-driven solutions. She holds a Master’s degree from Boston University and brings a strong blend of technical expertise and real-world experience in translating complex data into meaningful insights for researchers. This presentation will focus on:\n-Identifying the essential blend of technical expertise (SQL\, Python\, or Tableau) and domain knowledge (clinical workflows) required to stand out in the job market.\n-Understanding the direct link between data-driven decision-making and improved patient outcomes.\n-The art of communication to bridge the gap between technical data teams and frontline medical staff. \nBoth students and professionals are encouraged to attend! \nMeeting details will be provided after completing the registration.
