Sherita T. Ceasar is Vice President of Digital Launch Deployment for Scientific Atlanta, Inc. Ms. Ceasar is responsible for implementing post-sales processes to launch the Explorer 2000’s Digital Broadband Delivery System commercially. Ms. Ceasar leads the installation and site support, network management, customer training, and program management to support 100-cable operator commercial launches.
Ms. Ceasar was Vice President of Quality, where she provided the leadership and direction for quality initiatives on a company-wide basis. Ms. Ceasar worked with the management team to focus on several important areas: the new product development process, design and manufacturing verification testing, standards compliance, statistical methods, and overall process improvement.
Ms. Ceasar was Director of Manufacturing for the North America Subscriber Paging Division (NASPD) in the Paging Products Group of Motorola. Ms. Ceasar was an 8-year Motorolan, who rose from a staff engineer assigned to the position of Director of Manufacturing in Motorola’s Paging Products Group. Ms. Ceasar was the highest-ranking black female engineer at Motorola’s Paging Products Group, which numbers over 10,000 associates worldwide.
As Director of Manufacturing, Ms. Ceasar led an organization of nearly 2000 manufacturing associates, engineers, and managers to manufacture alphanumeric and numeric pagers in Boynton Beach, Florida. The Motorola facility in Boynton Beach, Florida, was named by Arthur D. Little as the “Best of the Best in Manufacturing Management” in 1995. Ms. Ceasar represented Motorola in Arthur D. Little’s “1995 Best of the Best Colloquium on Manufacturing Management”.
Ms. Ceasar received the 1997 Women of Color Technology Award, sponsored by Career Communications Group during Baltimore’s Bicentennial Celebration. In 1994, Ms. Ceasar won the Black Engineer of the Year Special Recognition Award. She also was awarded the Society of Women Engineers’ Distinguished New Engineer of the Year and the Julia Beveridge Award given to an outstanding woman supporting the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Ms. Ceasar serves on the National Board of Directors of the Society of Women Engineers as President-Elect for the Society. She also has served on the Board of Directors for Women in Engineering Program Advocates Network (WEPAN) and the Board of Directors for the Illinois Institute of Technology Alumni Association.
Ms. Ceasar’s community involvement primarily focuses on the area of encouragement of young people in the pursuit of mathematics and science. She is often called upon by organizations as a keynote speaker on various subjects, such as education and educational initiatives, quality, manufacturing, and achieving extraordinary results.
