Violettee V. Brown

Violettee V. BrownVi Brown is the principal and owner of Prophecy Consulting Group. As a business owner, she works to create greater value for her clients by combining strategy with engineering, management, and/or technology. She holds a bachelor’s in chemical engineering, a master’s in engineering from Howard University, and an MBA from Arizona State University, emphasizing finance and strategy. Previously she worked with Motorola, Maricopa County Government, Pacific Gas & Electric, CH2M Hill, and Procter & Gamble as Principal Staff Engineer, Division Manager, Director of Environmental Policy, Project Manager, and Process Engineer. Vi has managed construction projects of up to $200 million and annual operating budgets of $4.5 million. She is a senior life member of SWE and has been a member since 1987. She served six years on the national executive board. Before her year as president, she was vice president-transition (FY03), national secretary (FY01 and FY02), and Region B Director (FY99 and FY00). Vi is also a past president of the Phoenix Section and a charter member of the Howard University Student Section. She is frequently called on to speak before SWE and other audiences. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the City of Mesa’s (AZ) Inaugural Innovative Water Conservation Award, Fellow – Institute for the Advancement of Engineering, and the United States Presidential Challenge Award. Other professional memberships include the Air & Waste Management Association, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Howard University Alumni Association, Phoenix Region Future City Competition, Soroptimist International of the Americas, and the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering (Fellow). Vi enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
