China High School Preparation

In the most recent OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) assessment conducted in 2015, 15-year-old students from two regions of China, Hong Kong and Macau, participated. In the mathematics portion, students’ average score from both regions was higher than the average score of students belonging to OECD countries. The average mathematics score of girls from Macau was higher compared to the mean score of girls from Hong Kong and those belonging to OECD countries. Similarly, girls in Macau had a higher average science score than girls from Hong Kong and OECD countries. Moreover, these girls had the highest mean score in science among the selected groups.
