China Undergraduate Education

In 2014, China had the highest number of first university engineering degrees awarded with over 1.13 million. These engineering degrees represented about 33% of the total first university (bachelor’s or equivalent) degrees awarded in China.

In the Education Statistics in 2017 published by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, women were slightly over-represented (57.2%) among students that were entering undergraduate and junior colleges in 2017. Moreover, women comprised about 54% of these graduates in 2017.
