Job Outlook for Engineers

The job outlook for engineers continues to show a high demand for talent. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates a large need for engineers and computer-related employees over the next 10 years due to job growth and replacing those leaving the workforce. Occupations projected to grow the most by 2031 include computer and information scientists, chemical engineers, industrial engineers, and biomedical engineers. To meet the demand for new engineers, computer/information scientists, and engineering technologists, our nation must promote these professions among underrepresented groups, including women and individuals from other minoritized racial and ethnic backgrounds.
