1960-
I joined SWE because of Emma Barth. Emma was a Charter Member of the Pittsburgh Section. She asked me to revitalize the section in 1985. Due to the extraordinary women in engineering in Pittsburgh, the section was revitalized as an active section that hosted the very successful 1994 National SWE Convention.
SWE has been a tremendous organization to belong to. It has allowed me to travel to China and Russia through the People to People Program, meet lifelong friends, and obtain training to be a successful engineer and business owner.
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and am the President of The Gateway Engineers, Inc. Gateway is a Civil Engineering and Surveying firm in business for over forty years.
