Committees and Call for Judges/Reviewers

SWE Needs judges/reviewers for the following areas at this time:

1. Judges for SWE Awards Program and SWENext Annual Awards – Sign-up to review applications

Deadline to sign-up: March 3, 2024

Review Dates: March 12 – March 26, 2024 The Society of Women Engineers strives to recognize the successes of SWE members and individuals who enhance the engineering profession and advocate for individuals who identify as women in engineering through contributions to industry, education, and the community.  To that end, we need many judges to enable the SWE Awards Program and SWENext Annual Awards. Please consider volunteering for 2-3 hours. SWE membership is not required.

2. Now Open! WE24 Breakout Session Reviewer Signup – Sign-up to review applications

Deadline to sign-up: March 1, 2024

Review Dates: March 25 – April 19, 2024 Are you interested in volunteering to receive a discount to WE24? Complete between 30-50 reviews and receive a 25% discount. Complete more than 50 reviews and receive a 50% discount!

WE24 CFP Breakout Session Reviewers are asked to provide feedback on abstract content and speaker qualifications for Lectures, Panels, and Snap Sessions proposed for WE24. Each reviewer is assigned a range of sessions representing various topics. Reviewers should expect to spend roughly 6-7 hours on the review process. Many hands make light work! Share this call for reviewers with any of their SWE Member colleague(s) who may also be interested to become CFP Breakout Session Reviewers. SWE membership is required, Professional-level Members preferred, Collegiate-level Members also accepted.

3. Reviewers for SWE Incoming Freshmen Scholarship Applications Sign up to review applications

Deadline to sign-up: April 1, 2024

Review Dates: April 8 – April 22 Volunteers will receive training on the review process and expectations. Reviewers should expect to review between 10-15 applications, dependent on the number of completed applications. All assigned applications must be completed by the deadline. SWE professional membership is required.

Purpose of Committees

The power of our committees and our volunteers is what moves SWE forward. Society committees are also a major aspect of our talent development pipeline process.

Consider volunteering with SWE as we have a variety of open roles and assignments. All members are welcome to apply.
