Amanda Weissman, CISSP, is a Principal Systems Engineer for Lockheed Martin, where she designs Combat Systems for Surface Navy ships. She joined Lockheed Martin in 2004 and has held various roles in systems, radar, manufacturing, and software engineering. She also has two years of commercial experience at a software startup and telecommunications company. She is a SWE Life Member and has been involved with SWE since 2004, having served as collegiate and professional section president, region governor, collegiate counselor, and multiple Society committee and coordinator roles. She also Chaired the Lockheed Martin Society of Women Engineers.
Weissman received her BS in Electrical Engineering, MS in Materials Science and Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and MS in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Weissman is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a certified SAFe Agile Architect, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Weissman is a 2016 recipient of SWE’s Distinguished New Engineer Award and 2020 WE Local ELiTE. She also received the RIT Kate Gleason College of Engineering Alumni Emerging Leader award. In addition to SWE, Weissman serves on multiple alumni advisory boards for RIT and is a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Weissman is a member of INCOSE and IEEE. She is a working mother and enjoys traveling with her husband and two children.
