Lindsay Hess

Lindsay Hess is passionate about cultivating environments where individuals can thrive, grow, and innovate—fueling exceptional achievement and long-term success across the workplace. As a professional Engineering Training Project Team Lead, she is committed to advancing the way engineers are trained and developed, leveraging her prior successes and deep technical experience to build modern, competency-driven programs that meet the demands of today’s rapidly evolving industry needs.

With over 20 years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry, Lindsay has led internationally distributed teams, served as a chief engineer for complex product lines, and consistently delivered technically excellent solutions under dynamic and high-stakes conditions. Now, she leads a focused and impactful team that partners with technical experts and stakeholders to design and deliver training solutions that reach tens of thousands of engineers worldwide. She balances technical strategy, resource management, and business acumen to drive innovation across the engineering function.

Lindsay’s approach is grounded in the belief that inclusive, forward-thinking engineering ecosystems are essential—not only for innovation and mission success but also for meeting the broader responsibilities of today’s technical leaders. In alignment with calls for action around resilience in engineering leadership to maintain focus on diversity of experience and thought for innovation, including that of the Society of Women Engineers, she champions efforts to integrate skill development with meaningful cultural evolution.

A strategic thinker with a collaborative leadership style, Lindsay is deeply committed to empowering women in STEM and fostering a culture of inclusion. She is a Life Member of the Society of Women Engineers and has held leadership roles at both the local and Society levels, earning recognition for her service and advocacy as a WE Local ELiTE Award recipient and recipient of several Mission recognitions. Her strong educational foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, as well as a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the University of New Haven—equipping her to lead at the intersection of technical excellence and organizational strategy.
