SWE, the Society of Women Engineers’ flagship publication, has once again earned accolades for creative design and content in the 2022 FOLIO: Eddie and Ozzie competition. SWE earned six awards in the association/nonprofit and professional/membership categories in News Coverage, Podcast, Single Article, Cover Design, and Supplemental/One Shot Publication.

The Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards are considered the most prestigious recognition program in the publishing community, recognizing excellence in editorial content and design across print and digital media. These awards are recognized industry-wide, receiving applications in the thousands each year from publications around the globe.
Award categories range in topics from articles, essays, and full issue magazine; to blogs, podcasts, and video content; to cover design, graphic design, illustration, photography, web redesign, and more. The Eddies recognize editorial distinction, while the Ozzies honor outstanding design.
SWE contributor Seabright McCabe earned the top spot in News Coverage for the article, “Meeting Her Moment: How a Woman Engineer and Researcher is Helping Fellow Scholars in Ukraine, One Family at a Time,” published in the Spring 2022 issue. Honorable mention in the same category was awarded to SWE contributor Marsha Lynn Bragg for the news story, “SWE ‘Leans in’ to Change,” published in the Fall 2021 issue.
SWE Director of Editorial and Publications Anne Perusek, SWE contributor Christine Coolick, and Art Director JoAnn Dickey each earned honorable mention accolades in different award categories. Perusek was recognized in the Podcast category for the March 2022 discussion, “Leadership for a New Resilience Roundtable,” featuring women profiled in the article of the same title published in the Winter 2022 issue. The podcast included Lauren Stevens, vice president of programs, Northrop Grumman Corporation; Anita Bestelmeyer, senior director of corporate computer-aided engineering at Becton, Dickinson and Company; and Luciana Taylor, senior director of Keysight’s Pathwave software solutions. Perusek also was recognized in the Supplemental, Annual or One-Shot Publication category for the State of Women in Engineering 2022 issue.
Coolick’s article, “Advancing Careers While Caring for Others,” in the Winter 2022 issue received an honorable mention in the Single Article category.
Dickey received honorable mention in the Cover Design category for the Fall 2021 issue titled “Transforming Corporate Boards.”
The Eddie and Ozzie awards are open to all publications and websites: association/nonprofit, B2B, city and regional, consumer, and custom/content marketing publications. The competition is organized so that brands compete within a group of their peers. The Eddies are categorized by topic and market, and the Ozzies are categorized by publication type and readership size.
