DisruptHer Engineering

The DisruptHER Engineering Scholarship was created to support women determined to challenge the status quo. Not just by excelling in engineering, but by reshaping the systems and spaces around them.
A lifelong champion of equity in STEM, Marie Kalliney has led global digital transformation and professional services teams across finance, healthcare, and software. She has held executive roles at Fortune 100 companies and advised leaders on agile ways of working, organizational design, and unlocking value at scale. Throughout her career, she has worked to break down the barriers that hold women back from thriving and advancing in technical careers.
This scholarship reflects Marie’s belief that meaningful change begins with individuals who ask hard questions, challenge outdated norms, and lift others as they rise. She created DisruptHER for the student who’s not only strong in STEM but also driven to build better, more inclusive futures.
Marie began her career in software engineering and quickly discovered her passion for strategy, systems thinking, and leadership. She’s especially proud of mentoring early-career technologists and helping high-potential teams turn ideas into action.
Today, Marie splits her time between New York City and the Connecticut shoreline. She enjoys architecture, coastal home restoration, and long walks with her dog, Cocoa.
To future applicants:
This scholarship isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being brave. Brave enough to speak up, to rethink how things work, and to bring others with you. You belong in this field. And we’re already better because you’re here.
