Freeman Family Scholarship

Freeman Family Linda FreemanLinda Freeman currently resides in Orlando, Florida and has demonstrated a passion for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) since a young age. She has always understood the value of her goals and utilized SWE as a valuable resource to her career. During her early years in college, Linda had been an active member of SWE and even held the position of Georgia Tech collegiate section president. She became a leading figure for her section, instilled passion in those around her, and strove to pursue the SWE’s mission.

Career

Linda graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in electrical engineering. In addition, she completed minors in both psychology and business communications that only added to the skill set in her field. During her college career, she worked for a defense contractor as well as a consumer products manufacturer. With a passion in both of these areas, Linda joined the Rockwell Automation after graduating in 1996. Upon becoming a Senior Sales Engineer for Rockwell, Linda demonstrated great technical knowledge of their products and professional skills in customer application. Outside of Rockwell Automation, Linda is a dedicated volunteer within her community and understands the importance of recruiting future talent through career fairs as well as community activities.

SWE

Freeman first began her SWE career in college and continues to serve at the section and Societal levels. Not only is she committed to ensuring the growth of collegiate sections, Linda also served as the Section Representative on the National Council and played a key role in Rockwell Automation’s decision to join SWE as a Corporate Partnership Council member. Linda is also a SWE Life Member. Furthermore, Linda is passionate about fundraising for breast cancer research and stays active in community outreach programs.

Scholarship

Linda created an endowed scholarship in her family’s name, established in 2021, where SWE members from any class and engineering related major may apply from certain eligible states.
