Nancy Lambert [1967-2025]
The passing of Nancy Lambert in January 2025 left a profound void in our hearts and a desire to continue her important work to advance the careers of women in the security and engineering industries.
Nancy joined dormakaba in 2020 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the Americas. She was an important influencer in the security industry and was honored as a member of the 2024 class of the Security Industry Association (SIA) Women in Security Forum (WISF) Power 100. This recognition program presented by SIA WISF celebrates women who model leadership, inspire others and shape and transform the security industry.
Throughout her time with us at dormakaba, she demonstrated extraordinary leadership, offering not only her expertise but her unwavering support as a mentor, friend, and highly respected business partner. Additionally, as a co-founder of the dormakaba Women’s Network and its first Executive Sponsor, Nancy was deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace for all dormakaba employees.
While there are countless ways in which Nancy positively impacted our business, it was her warmth, kindness, and infectious laugh that many of us will cherish most. Nancy was always willing to lend an ear and offer guidance to colleagues who sought her mentorship. Her genuine care and generosity were felt across the company, and she will be greatly missed.
She graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and from Loyola University New Orleans with a law degree specializing in intellectual property, and upon graduation, she spent two years as a judicial law clerk for the Louisiana Supreme Court. Prior to her time at dormakaba, Lambert’s career included serving as a chemical engineer for the Dupont Corporation and as a patent attorney for 3M and Donaldson Corporation.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to travel the world and had a passion for showing, riding, and rehabilitating thoroughbred racehorses. She served on the Minnesota Council on Economic Education and was a board member of the children’s charity Wishes and More.
