Like the SWE Boston Section, SWE Baltimore-Washington was one of SWE’s original sections established at the Society’s founding meeting in 1950. This section supports professional women engineers in the DC area including parts of Maryland and Virginia. SWE Baltimore-Washington established two scholarships in 2005 that are open to students at colleges or universities in DC, Maryland, or Virginia. One scholarship is dedicated to incoming freshmen, while the other scholarship supports upperclassmen undergraduate and graduate students.
