Manoj Verma is the factory manager, India Small Tractors at John Deere India Pvt Ltd. With more than 26 years of global experience in manufacturing technology, he has been instrumental in transforming operational excellence across several facilities in India and the United States.
He began his career as a graduate engineer trainee at John Deere, and he has since advanced through various roles, including a global, U.S.-based assignment as a business transformation and operations manager. Throughout his tenure, Verma has successfully led initiatives focused on digital transformation, operational efficiency, and empowering women in the fields of engineering and technology.
Verma has made remarkable contributions to advancing diversity and inclusion at John Deere. In 2021, he fostered a diverse shop floor culture by championing gender-neutral workstations, creating an inclusive environment for all employees. His dedication to developing women leaders was further solidified in 2022 with the introduction of the “LIVE the TEAM” metrics. As executive sponsor for Lakshya India Women REACH and the Women in Manufacturing employee resource group, Verma championed initiatives aimed at increasing the representation of women in leadership roles, successfully hiring women for key factory operations positions since 2023.
Verma has actively encouraged diversity across all factory leadership councils and retention programs, serving as a brand ambassador for Men as Diversity Partners to cultivate a supportive workplace culture. His commitment to developing women leaders has resulted in successful placements across the organization.
Additionally, Verma has spearheaded manufacturing transformation initiatives that foster future skills, support gender diversity through programs such as Women in Leadership, and facilitate diversity sensitivity training to address biases. His dedication extends beyond the workplace, as he has led corporate social responsibility initiatives focused on education, environmental sustainability, and women’s empowerment, thereby engaging employees in community service.
Verma’s commitment to mentoring and coaching has positively influenced the careers of many women engineers, empowering them to pursue leadership roles and excel in emerging technologies such as factory automation and data analytics.
Verma holds a Bachelor in Technology in mechanical engineering from the University of Kanpur and an MBA from Symbiosis International University. Outside of work, he is actively engaged in his community and enjoys spending quality time with his family, as well as playing cricket, badminton, and lawn tennis.
