The SWE Early Career Professionals Affinity Group cordially invites you to our upcoming virtual event, “Debunking Engineering Myths” on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT!
During this panel discussion, we intend to take an honest look at some common assumptions about engineering careers and provide early career professionals with honest, real-world perspectives from experienced engineers. This panel session will feature industry experts from different industries and SWE groups, including Chhavi Gupta, Kara DiNatale and Laura Smith-Velazquez, and cover engaging topics such as “You must know everything right away” and “Your degree defines your career path,” highlighting the role of lifelong learning, growth over perfection, and the many unconventional paths engineers take. This session aims to provide clarity, reassurance, and practical perspective for those navigating the early stages of their engineering journey.
Both Students and Professionals are encouraged to attend.
