As the new academic year begins, U.S. SWE collegiate members may find that their SWE collegiate sections and affiliates have been impacted by legislative and political efforts to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion programs across the education landscape. Others may be wondering how they can remain engaged with SWE programs, events, and leadership when their institution has limited access and resources that have historically supported their participation.
Join us for this timely and candid webinar to learn what actions SWE is taking to support our collegiate members as we navigate the anti-DEI rhetoric, policies, and legal challenges. In this webinar, the speakers will:
• Provide a brief overview of the U.S. anti-DEI landscape
• Explain why SWE created a DEI Advisory Council in early 2025
• Describe the Council’s efforts since its inception to understand and respond to the impacts to collegiate sections and affiliates
•Offer resources to SWE collegiate members, faculty advisors, administrators, and professionals interested in supporting college students in their area
