The SWE Early Career Professional Affinity Group cordially invites you to our virtual event, “FY26 Monthly Professional Development Series: October” on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT). This month’s session features two insightful presentations focused on self-advocacy, remaining motivated in challenging situations, and avoiding common resume mistakes that can hold you back.
Amanda Stone will speak on “Standing Strong: Self-Advocacy & Resilience in Action”. She will discuss how to stand up for yourself and what you care about in a professional and impactful way, and what it takes to stay motivated and productive in undesirable circumstances.
Claire Jordan will follow with a presentation on “Resume Roast”. Claire Jordan is dedicated to mentoring early-career professionals, helping them navigate transitions and build confidence in their careers, and her Resume Roast presentation is one of her favorites. In it, attendees will learn what not to do on a resume and see some great examples of resumes-gone-wrong.
This month’s session will leave you inspired and equipped with practical tools to move forward in your career. Both students and professionals are encouraged to attend!
Meeting details will be provided after completing the registration.
