Magazine Earns ASBPE National Award

The American Society of Business Publication Editors has awarded SWE Magazine a national Bronze Award in its annual Azbee Awards of Excellence program.
Longtime contributing writer Seabright McCabe received recognition for her story, “DEI Faces Rising Waters,” published in the magazine’s 2024 Conference issue. The story highlighted the wave of anti-DEI legislation roiling American higher education and putting programs that support women and their pipeline into engineering at risk. The story is featured in the association’s diversity, equity, and inclusion category.
The highly competitive Azbee Awards recognize outstanding work across 68 categories by business, trade, association, and professional publications known as B2B media. The Azbees highlight editorial, digital, and design excellence in print media, email newsletters, and digital publishing.
This is the second year the magazine has entered the competition, and it has received a national-level honor for the second consecutive year. Read McCabe’s article on anti-DEI sentiment in the business world, “The Pendulum Swings on Corporate DEI,” in this issue.
