Jenny L. Moose is a senior associate and chief engineer for the strategy and technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, where her career has developed for the past 13 years. She brings more than 20 years of leadership and technical experience to solving national security problems in her role as a technical consultant, including leadership experience from her college years, her time in the U.S. Air Force, and her participation in the Reserve
Officers’ Training Corps.
Moose’s technical background includes engineering for aircraft, weapons, satellite ground systems, command and control systems, and nuclear systems. She also brings more than 20 years of programmatic and team leadership to her organization. Currently, she leads a team of more than 80 professionals supporting U.S. national defense programs.
She began her professional career in 2000 with her commissioning into the Air Force. She served for 10 years as a developmental engineer in roles including deployment as an aircraft battle damage repair engineer during Operation Enduring Freedom, and additional engineering positions with aircraft, bombs, satellite ground systems, and communications systems. She led teams in technical projects and capabilities and advanced to the rank of major.
Since transitioning from the Air Force to Booz Allen Hamilton in 2010, she has served as an engineering cost analyst for satellite systems, a test and evaluation engineer, and a leader within the U.S. nuclear weapons certification community. Within the Booz Allen nuclear team, she leads business development and manages contracts, while still performing technical analysis. She has advanced in leadership positions to her current role as a junior executive and leader of Booz Allen’s 184-employee office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Outside of work, Moose is a member of several honors societies, including Pi Tau Sigma, Scabbard and Blade, and Quill and Dagger. She is a devoted volunteer with such organizations as the Roadrunner Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and Expanding Your Horizons. Because she received support from her family and teachers on her path to becoming an engineer, Moose is deeply committed to supporting girls and young women interested in STEM. A member of the Society of Women Engineers for 13 years, she has presented at several WE conferences, and volunteers at SWE’s annual conference to encourage girls to consider STEM careers. She also supports engineering students at The University of New Mexico’s Engineering Student Success Center, advising future engineering leaders and instilling the confidence they need to succeed in their choice of career. She is also a Girl Scouts volunteer through the SWE Central New Mexico Section, organizing activities and serving as a role model for girls in their formative years.
Moose holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
