Markita C. Riley is the Outreach and Student Programs Manager for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Markita is passionate about people being the best versions of themselves, with no limits to who they can be or what they can do. This passion has led Markita to many career opportunities, including being a Resident Director for Radford University Residence Life and serving as an Executive Assistant and Communications Specialist for her home church Apostolic Church of God (ACOG). Markita holds an M.S. in Corporate and Professional Communications from Radford University and a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Ball State University. Even if it is as small as smiling when greeting someone, Markita believes every impact you make helps change the world! She loves working with SWE members to ensure that the highest quality programs, content, and resources are provided to shape our future SWE leaders. Markita is excited to be a part of a team that believes in growing and developing the next generation of women engineers and STEM professionals. Fun Facts About Markita: I am a big sci-fi fan. Marvel movies are my jam! I love makeup and see it as a form of art. I am all about fashion and personal style! I believe you should add a little spice to everything you wear and do. When no one is listening or watching, I sing and dance like the famous cousins of celebrities, you know, “Whitney Dallas” and “Janet Johnson.”
