Meet the Co-Chairs

The ICC is led by co-chairs who support and guide the work of the council through the application of their strategic leadership, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills.

Neema NairNeema Nair, Cummins
Technical Director – Engine Business

Neema Nair is a Mechanical Engineer by training and she joined Cummins Inc. in 2006. She started as a performance development engineer in Customer Engineering at the Cummins Technical Center in Columbus, Indiana. Working through a few strategic roles in CE, she moved to India in 2014 as the Customer Engineering leader for the Engine Business in India. In 2017, she took on the role of the Design and Analysis Engineering Leader for the Engine Business in India. Diversity & Inclusion is one of her core values and one of the strong alignment points she shares with Cummins. She is passionate about the value of creating diversity, equity and inclusion in the work place to empower people to bring their whole self to work. She has been a strong propagator of diversity in terms of gender and LGBTQ+. She represents Cummins in the SWE India Corporate council  and leads the SWE Executive Council within Cummins Inc. She is also the Inclusion Champion for the PRIDE Employee Resource Group supporting LGBTQ+ in Cummins India.

Neema and her husband Milan, have a 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter and reside in Pune, India.

Director-Engineering, India Innovation Center

Monali Bhalerao is Director-Engineering at Eaton India Innovation Center, Pune. Monali leads the Digital Segment Software groups and, Product cybersecurity and Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) CoEs, drives multiple portfolios to accelerate the product design life cycle for connected and intelligent systems through the advancement of secure reusable platforms, processes, and developing scale in Software capabilities.

Before coming to Eaton, Monali was with KPIT Cummins from 2003 to 2009, where she served as Project Lead on technology projects for the semiconductor solutions group. Monali began her career in 1995 at DB Power Electronics and then moved to Invensys Asia Engineering Center, spending several years as a design engineer. During this time, she grew to lead project teams and gain experience in diverse domains including semiconductor, consumer, automotive and industrial domains, and development.

She is actively involved with Eaton’s Inclusion & Diversity in APAC. She has globally lead Eaton’s inclusion employee resource group ENGAGE. Eaton Resource Group ENGAGE (Eaton’s Next Generation Achieving Goals and Excelling). She has been associated with the Society of Women Engineers WE Local conference in Pune since its inception, India Chapter Council and is a Life Member of this organization.

Monali holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (electronics) from the University of Pune, India. In addition to her passion for work and mentoring, her interests include yoga, books, gamification, and sports. Her family includes her husband, two sons, and in-laws.
