My SWE Experience

“SWE has played a pivotal role in my journey toward senior leadership by giving me access to leaders who openly share their challenges, experiences, and growth.”

What makes SWE special to you?

I’ve been associated with SWE since 2019. I am an engineer specializing in Electronics and Communication, and over my two decades of experience I’ve developed products in the telecom, automotive, and healthcare domains. I would call myself a passionate engineer, and SWE’s mission of empowering women in STEM truly resonates with me. It aligns with my own passion and gives me the space to connect with women in engineering. That’s what excites me most about being part of SWE.

What kind of people has SWE connected you with?

I’ve been closely connected with SWE for about six years now. I still remember my first meeting with the advisory board members—they were casual, lively, and deeply engaged in discussions about key DEIB initiatives. That gave me the feeling that this was the right platform for me, and that’s how my SWE journey really began.

Since then, I’ve met professionals, students, and seasoned leaders across different industries. Every conversation has been enriching and has contributed to my personal and professional growth.

How has SWE impacted your professional and personal growth?

Professionally, SWE has played a pivotal role. With an engineering career of nearly two decades, I’m now honing my leadership skills and preparing to move into higher leadership roles. Through SWE, I’ve had the chance to listen to seasoned leaders talk about how they navigated their careers and the skills required to succeed at senior levels. These insights have helped me understand what I need to learn, what I need to improve, and the methods I can adopt to develop myself.

I’ve attended many SWE conferences, especially WE Local Bengaluru, where the keynote speakers bring powerful stories about their career journeys and challenges. Their experiences have been incredibly valuable in guiding my own learning path toward senior leadership.

How has SWE enabled you to give back to the community and be a role model for other women in engineering?

Being part of SWE made me realize how much support women in STEM often need. Through conversations and interactions, I understood that I could mentor others, offer career guidance, and help them navigate challenges in their organizations.

That’s how I joined the mentorship program. Today, I mentor students and entry-level professionals—listening to their concerns, helping them overcome hurdles, and guiding them to stay focused and intentional about their careers. It makes me proud to give back to the community in this way and support the next generation of engineers.
