SWE Lusaka hosted a Meet and Greet event that brought together collegiate and professional members from different fields, with guest of honour Madam Engwase B. Mwale, CEO of Zambian Financial Sector Deepening Limited (FSD). Speakers covered areas such as health, entrepreneurship, and workplace professionalism.

The SWE Université Loyola du Congo Affiliate in the DRC participated in International Day of Women and Girls in Science to inspire and involve young girls in scientific fields, with a focus on science and gender equality for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and also highlighted women’s vulnerability to climate change and their potential to lead in climate adaptation through sustainable initiatives.

On June 12th, 2022, a technical field visit was conducted at GK Enterprise in Zambia to encourage women in STEM to consider entrepreneurship and start their own engineering firms. During the visit, SWE collegiate members were offered internship opportunities at GK Enterprise over the holidays.

In June 2022, SWE Lusaka participated in the SWE Careers Day at St. Michaels School in Meawood to inspire students about the importance of STEM and encourage them to aspire to become engineers, technologists, scientists, and mathematicians.
