Kenashia Thompson, Program Manager, Women of Color in Engineering Collaborative, Research and Impact

K Thompson WCEC headshotThrough this role, Kenashia (she/her) oversees all programs for the WCEC that includes the Inspiring Leaders Profiles Database, Webinar series, Resource Center, and Travel Stipend Program. As a proud southern belle, Kenashia finds joy in working with subject-matter experts to bolster their experiences and shift resources from harmful institutions. Before joining SWE, Kenashia led grassroots organizing efforts to prevent and end homelessness for QTBIPOC youth across the country.

Kenashia earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Honors College at Winthrop University in South Carolina. She also earned a master’s degree in Religion, Ethics, and Politics from Harvard University in Massachusetts, where all of her research and anthropological work focused on Womanist Ethics, Black Liberation, and Social Justice Advocacy.
