Kenashia Thompson, Program Manager, Women of Color in Engineering Collaborative, Research and Impact

K Thompson WCEC headshotThrough this role, Kenashia (she/her) creates, develops, and maintains curated resources for the WCEC to help organizations find speakers and celebrate accomplished women of color in engineering, supporting the overall mission and vision of the collaborative. As a proud southern belle, Kenashia finds joy in working with subject-matter experts to bolster their livelihood and shift resources. Before joining SWE, Kenashia led grassroots organizing efforts to prevent and end youth homelessness for QTBIPOC youth nationally.

Kenashia earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Honors College at Winthrop University in South Carolina. She also earned a master’s in Religion, Ethics, and Politics from Harvard University in Massachusetts, where she focused on Womanist ethics, Black Liberation, and Social Justice advocacy.
