Managing Global Teams: Ideas to Improve Collaboration and Impact

The potential for global collaboration is significant – different perspectives, sources of information, ability to serve global clients, etc. Yet one of the hurdles is the ability to collaborate globally. Most people are not aware of how the geographic distance and cultural diversity impact how we think, feel and act when working virtually. For instance, virtual managers need to consider alternatives ways to build trust, give feedback and create team spirit when compared to a co-located team.

In this presentation, we will explore the unique context when strategy is global and colleagues are local. Theresa will introduce cultural diversity and then show the three ways cultural differences can impact a virtual team. She will also provide practical ideas for managers that want to tap into the potential of global collaboration.
