The University of Alabama – Tuscaloosa (UA) was founded 1831 as the flagship of the University of Alabama system. The collegiate section at UA has been active for more than 20 years. In 1999, the section raised enough funds after hosting their first region conference to endow a scholarship for the College of Engineering. The SWE University of Alabama – Tuscaloosa Collegiate Section was established in 1976.
